Anambra state University renamed after Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu

ANSU renamed after Ojukwu
Anambra State University, Uli (ANSU) formerly known as Anambra State Polytechnic, ANATECH, has been re-named again for the third time. This time it was named after the late Biafran leader, Ikemba Nnewi Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.

It was announced by the Governor of the state, Peter Obi in a live broadcast on ABStv on Friday 1st November 2013

According to the governor, the university was renamed after late Ojukwu in celebration of his posthumous 80th birthday.

The late Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu who was the former military governor of the Eastern Region of Nigeria before the first military coup in 1966 died on November 26, 2011 at the age of 78 and has since been laid to rest in his home town Nnewi, Anambra state.
