ASUU Indefinitely Suspends Its NEC Meeting Over Ex-president's Death

Sources close to ASUU have disclosed that it has postponed its National executive Coucil (NEC) meeting slated for today in order to honour her former President Dr. Festus Iyayi who died yesterday morning in a fatal car accident along Lokoja, on his way to Kano state for today's meeting. The meeting which was expected to end the four month strike will now hold at a later date yet to be announced.

According to reports, Kogi State’s Governor, Mr. Idris Wada’s convoy rammed into the vehicle conveying Professor Iyayi and some members from University of Benin branch of the union to Kano. The university don who is also a popular writer, died on the spot while three other occupants of the vehicle sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
